Music has always been an important part of Shirley’s life. She began her private studies on the piano at age 10. Upon receiving her ARCT Diploma at the age of 15, she planned to pursue a career in music. Shirley has completed a Bachelors of Music in Piano and Bassoon Performance at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education at York University.
For the last 15 years, Shirley has been an active piano instructor, clarinet and bassoon performer, and vocal and instrumental accompanist. Music is a permanent part of her life. She wishes to share her love of music and inspire students of all ages to one day become extraordinary musicians. Shirley’s approach to teaching is that music should be learned in a fun and comfortable atmosphere. She works hard to make sure that her lessons are an enjoyable and educational experience for all of her students! She loves teaching students of all ages and looks forward to sharing her energy and passion towards music.
Apart from her music career, she is also the North York/Scarborough community manager for Life With A Baby. This organization helps connect moms together in the local community with social events, meet-ups, workshops and seminars. www.lifewithababy.com
